Museum

‘Knowledge in art is an apprenticeship that starts from the observation of a work of art, reading and artistic practice.’

The school maintains a permanent art museum which also serves as a part of the school curriculum. Museum education was introduced to ensure the preservation of cultural identity and continue to be appreciated by the students/community. Numerous local crafts are conserved such as Bamboo Vessels (Tzüshi), Hand-Operated Rice Ponder(Sümki), Hand Weeder (Alulem), Bamboo Siever (Jang Itsü), Weaving materials used by women (Yimlong Imlang) and many more. Occasionally, the school also makes these items available for public viewing through exhibitions where the students participate by presenting the various collections displayed in the museum, which in turn enables the students to broaden their knowledge, enrich their cultural education and improve their capacity of expression. We also verified that the students produced significant artistic works during the educational actions in the museum, which contributed to their greater experience in art. The school will continue to broaden its collection, especially on regional artifact for the purpose of preservation and cultural education.
